Countdown for the Federal Government Response to the Productivity Commission Report

We are all eagerly awaiting the Federal Government’s response to the Productivity Commission report into Early Childhood Education and Care, specifically if our calls to have the ECEC system redesigned for rural communities have been heard. We are requesting a NEW funding structure to enable a service guarantee for all children. The feedback from families and service providers across the Wimmera Southern Mallee has been invaluable in shaping the change we require.

The Productivity Commission has been tasked with an inquiry into the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector in Australia. The Productivity Commission spent 12 months drafting a report and held hearings across Australia in March seeking feedback, with the Wimmera Southern Mallee and our partners in the Mallee and Loddon Campaspe regions securing the opportunity to draw attention to the specific challenge of small rural communities.
