ECEC Workforce & Transition to School Update

Recently, By Five facilitated a Kinder to School transition discussion in Horsham with our local kindergarten and schools and representatives from the Department of Education. The commitment from the group to ensure that children move into their next phase of education as smoothly as possible was inspiring. Whilst there are transition statements and school site visits for children, the opportunity for staff to converse face-to-face was seen as invaluable.

The By Five team were lucky enough to experience the Green Park ‘Bush Kinder’ first-hand. Bush Kinder is a great way to use nature for learning and supporting child development.

The Wimmera ECEC Workforce action group is committed to building and developing the early childhood education workforce right across the region, including attracting people to the industry, enhancing the student placement experience, and advocating for improvements in the sector. Attending the Goolum Goolum try-a-trade day was a great way to expose this wonderful career pathway to prospective students.
