By Five in the Big Smoke

In June Cara and Hannah spent a few days in Melbourne at the Royal Children’s Hospital and the Centre for Community Child Health, meeting with colleagues new and old with a jam-packed itinerary!

We discussed ‘metal models’ that exist in the Wimmera, which are beliefs that shape how people interact with each other and the system, and how we might shift some of these to create real change for child outcomes in our region.

It was an absolute treat to catch-up with previous Fellows Amy and Sylvie over an early dinner - proving that By Five truly is a family you join but never really leave.

The following day True South Film travelled to Melbourne to put the spotlight on our Paediatricians and wrap up filming for our mini-documentary. We cannot wait to see the final product and share it with you all - watch this space!

Finally, Hannah and Cara successfully navigated public transport out of the city, making it home safely to the clear night skies filled with the bright stars of the Wimmera.
